The former Stranraer and District Ladies Choir has reached a new, mature and exciting stage if their latest concert is anything to go by. Renamed GALLOWAY VOICES, they have without a doubt reinvented themselves in more than just a name-change. The same dedicated group of singers; the same exceptionally talented accompanist Mitchell Shaw, and most importantly, the same superb musical director Nicola Junor are all there: but their latest concert in the Baptist Church seems to have taken on that extra sparkle and stepped up to a higher level of self assurance and professional musicianship. Feel the Spirit
I cannot help but feel uplifted this Saturday morning, today being the morning after the joyous Spring ‘Feel the Spirit’ concert at the Ryan Centre of the evening previous (23rd March) by the Stranraer and District Ladies Choir which was ably led, as usual, by its Musical Director, Nicki Junor. Dare I ‘Imagine’ as the sun beams down this morning that the long miserable winter is now truly behind us and that it is right to believe that the joy and pleasure of the performance of last night played its part in reminding us of the ‘Rhythm of Life’ which every year ushers in the hope of spring and allows us to forget the cold, dark and dank months.
